Katie Cannon

Katie's journey in gymnastics started at just 4 years old. What began as a weekly class became a passion that took her to becoming a 5-time British Gymnastics Champion and representing Great Britain at World and European Championships.

Her biggest business journey began in 2008, when she launched Backflip Gymnastics, teaching just a handful of children. Today, Backflip teaches over 2,000 children with a team of around 30.

Katie has made plenty of mistakes along the way — from hiring the wrong people and losing money on venues to growing too quickly and learning some very expensive lessons.

And that's exactly why Gold Medal Business was created. Katie wanted to share what she had learnt from more than 20 years of building businesses.

Today, Katie supports children's activity and sports entrepreneurs around the world, helping them build profitable, sustainable businesses that can grow without everything relying on them.

Amy Schweizer

Multi-Sports & Football

Amy joined Gold Mentorship and has grown her children's football business, surpassing 1,000 players per month in 2024 and still growing! Now, she’s helping other children’s activity and sports entrepreneurs achieve the same success!

Her journey started as a 16-year-old newcomer to soccer, quickly rising to high school and college team captain before playing professionally for the Cincinnati Ladyhawks in the W-League (USL). With a B.S. in Finance and M.S. in Sport Management, Amy combined her love for sports with business acumen, launching Tiny Troops Soccer while stationed in Japan as a USMC military spouse.

10 years later, Tiny Troops operates in 17 states, 50+ locations, with over 60 staff worldwide. She also founded Tiny Tot Soccer, expanding her reach in early childhood sports development. A dedicated mom of three, published author, and advocate for military spouse employment, Amy has been featured in Sports Illustrated, Military Spouse Magazine, and was named 2021 Inspirational Leader of the Year by The Rosie Network.

With expertise in program creation, coaching, and business strategy, Amy is passionate about helping fellow entrepreneurs build, scale, and lead their businesses successfully, just like she did.

Tania De Azevedo

Tania joined our Gold Mentorship a few years ago. She has spent the past 14 years building and growing a highly successful children’s football program in Australia alongside her husband, Rob. Recognising his natural ability to inspire young children, she combined that passion with her own extensive business expertise to create a thriving and sustainable operation.

With over 25 years’ experience across retail, sales, account management, and business development, Tania brings a well-rounded commercial skill set. In the sports industry, she has led all operational areas of the business, including recruitment, training, sales, finance, marketing, and people management.

In addition, Tania has four years’ experience as a Business Coach, working with a diverse range of clients.

She is passionate about helping business owners improve the two key drivers of success — productivity and profitability — and is known for her practical, results-focused approach.
